Hello Monawkaran, . Thank

Hello Monawkaran, . Thank you for sharing your answers. The "test" is meant more as a way to help you asses yourself. Based on your answers YOU have to decide if it is a problem for you or not. We don't "judge" wether or not you have an addiction. We are here for those who decide they have a problem with their gaming and need help to overcome it.

Note that there is a more extensive, recent and, I believe, official list of gaming addiction signs at Take the Screening Below. Do YOU Think You Are an Excessive Gamer?.

15 out of 19. I have a problem and I have tried to quit many times. I am glad you are here and I am glad there are some people who are also here to find strength and courage to quit. Seems like there are thousands of sites for people that want to play and there are lots of people there. This is the first site I have found really truly dedicated to people who want to quit.

Hi Jfcct, Welcome. Many of

Hi Jfcct, Welcome. Many of us recognize the MMOs listed in your posts, and have come here seeking relief from addictive gaming. If you have the desire to stop, there are tools and resources. I highly recommend reading the literature available at the site, as well as the 12 steps. You mentioned wanting to get down to "causes and conditions" in effect--the 12 steps can help you do some of that. For myself I found that a solitary self appraisal did little for me in the face of a progressive addiction to WoW, and that no amount of "self-knowledge" could help me stop what I was doing once I lost the power of choice and the phenomenon of craving kicked in. I certainly had ample good reason to quit! I hope you will take time to read the various threads here, and post so we may become more familiar with you. You mention in your profile that you are "old"--we have folks here who range in age from early 20s to (I believe) their 50s. Whatever your age, we too know what it is like to struggle with compulsive online gaming, regardless of how old or young we are.

Cheers, Desire to Stop

Yikes. Just came across

Yikes. Just came across this thread and went through the list of questions: 19/19 for me, though some more than others of course. Sense of euphoria while playing? The log-on screen/music was enough to make me want to lick the monitor.

The only winning move is not to play.

What is video game

What is video game addiction? Are video games addictive? Are you a video game addict? Video game addiction is often referred to as video game overuse, a compulsive or excessive use of computer games and/or video games. Video game addicts are believed to exhibit the same psychological addictive behaviors as gambling addiction, often described as an impulse control disorder.
