Hello...
I found this forum a couple of weeks ago, now, I think...
I'm just wondering if there are any recovering addicts or spouses/girlfriends/friends of gamers who team-play (or used to play) on the above server. As I've mentioned before, my husband's "drug of choice" has, for the past couple of years, been Tom Clancy-based on-line games; he's been addicted to gaming, however, for the better part of our marriage. I've gotten used to it, but will probably leave over this issue eventually if it doesn't improve. I've given up hope that it ever will. I've got to finish my college degree first, however, or my ultimatum will have no "teeth."
Anyway - Some of the names I hear when he engages in the horrendously-annoying Team Speak are "Green," "33," and "Tank," I think. He mentioned that some of his "old-timer" buddies have recently been off-line...I couldn't resist saying, "Maybe they got lives." He was irked, to say the least...but we're honestly past the point of arguing about it. It's just "there."
I'm just looking for recovered Rainbow Six gamers and/or spouses/significant others of those who still play regularly...I'm curious to see what the "better halves" of my husband's virtual social circle are doing while they're online.

I'm sorry, that particular game isn't all that popular, so your husband is part of a very small group. We don't seem to have any other Rainbow Six addicts here, but it doesn't mean they're not around, everyone's the first to post about a particular game sometime. You're right...It's not the game. His addiction has persisted throughout many games in the decade or so since he's been a compulsive gamer.
What do you know about Half Life II? He just picked that one up at Wal-Mart today; I noticed that this was one of the titles that someone broke in half and added to the pile of discarded CD's. Bracing myself for another round...Actually, I'm getting more and more complacent about it all the time; this is healthy for me but bad for the marriage, I suspect.
