Captain's log...not so much, no. Enough of that nonsense. It's my log, not my character's. But I digress. This is where my thoughts now belong, written with all due honesty. Consequently spelling might not be checked and the whole thing may be a bit confusing.
It has been four days since I last gamed. Not exactly an acheivement, but still. I found out that in order not to game one needs to surround oneself with people. There is nothing worse than being alone in a room with a computer; and that's exactly the situation I'm in now. Not surprisingly I almost gave up a few minutes ago. In fact WoT is being installed at the moment. No worries, I won't play. This post is to see to it. For wouldn't I betray myself and the people of this community by posting a lie? Besides, I have better things to do.
You see, I've set myself a couple of short term goals in life. That's what I miss. Games have a goal to reach most of the time. And life must not be any different! It cannot be.
Goal one: Improve jump height so as to be able to slam dunk.
It should take a month at most. At least it's something to keep me away from gaming...
Um...4 days is actually a huge accomplishment. Congrats! The first days are extremely hard, so the fact that you've made it to 4 days is big.
If you have better things to do, why not cancel the install? No need to tempt yourself. I hope all goes well for you, and know that anybody who wants to stop gaming is welcome here, no matter what may have just happened in RL 5 minutes ago.

Big hugs!!! I vote to cancel the install. Surrounding one's self with people is difficult when one has spent a lot of time isolating with games.
For me, the trick has been to figure a way to manage my life, so that no matter if I am alone, or in a crowd... my mind is not in the game..
Congrats on the four days!!
I third the vote to cancel the install. It would be less of a temptation than leaving it to uninstall later. Your first goal is a great one. Do you have non-gamer or other supportive friends to talk to when you are feeling tempted? Coming here helps too, I spent a LOT of time here when I first quit.

Are you freaking kidding me??? I had people on here to help me get to four HOURS, and I really think four days is HUGE when you're giving up gaming. {{Cheering, clapping, jumping up and down to celebrate with you}}}
I give another vote for canceling the install.
Congrat! You did good, keep it up!
