husband addicted to final fantasy a new empire

I've lost my husband in this final fantasy game since our daughter was born in December. He spends all his time on it when he is home. When I would ask him to hold her , he would just hold onto her while continuing to game. Then he gets upset when she doesn't want him to hold her. I confronted him about it last night with " you are getting really addicted to this game, don't you think?" I got.the reply that he's cutting back. Well, I checked his account for one of his, and found out just how much money he has been spending on it. I was so upset that I was shaking and my heart was racing. He apologized.,.sort of, when I confronted him on it. He then retracted his apology saying he can spend his hard earned money recklessly if he wants to ,.as long as he's making payments on the card. He also proceeded to blame me for his addiction..that I'm not giving him enough attention and he is filling a void. He said he took his credit card off the account to a avoid temptation. Honestly, I also know that he has the line app on his phone now too because of the game and I don't even want to approach that subject now.
I'm feeling so hopeless with this and fed not sure what I'm going to do from here

Welcome Mrsbuck

It seems be is using 'addict logic'. His brain has been affected and he is becoming more selfish and lacking empathy, but he will be unaware of it.

You are not alone in this. See our information for spouses of gamers from the link below in my signature. Read the links and then see how you can make a plan about what you can do to help yourself in this situation. When you click on the information for spouses below, in the thread there is link about what you can do when money on games is an issue. After reading the info, ask any questions you may have.
