Sold my stuff. Hitting withdrawals

Hello. I'm a gaming addict. This has affected my life in many negative ways and I'm tired of it. Im too ashamed to go into details. These feelings have pushed me to the extreme. Within the last 24 hours I took my PS4 and sold it to Best Buy. Bought our family a needed vacuum with the gift cards to make the money no longer accessible. The PS4 was my only current gaming option. The withdrawal symptoms are just starting and I'm nervous for them to come on strong. Any support or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm tired of neglecting my wife and children and I don't want to be ruled by my desires any longer.

Yes, the withdrawals can be intense in the first week or two.  They're different for different people, so it's not easy to know what to expect.  I was very impulsive and antsy and irritable for the first few weeks, but it got better and easier with time.

I highly recommend connecting with other people in the forum, in the voice meetings, and by phone or skype if you can.  The voice meetings are every day at 11:30am and 8pm MDT, plus there are other times on other days.  It's fine to just listen.  Nothing is required of anyone.

Congrats on your new path in life!  I hope you're able to take advantage of the support that is available.
