This website, now to become a chartered non-profit organization, has helped countless people to rebuild their lifes, or the lifes of their close and dear ones from scratch. Those who have been helped, are now invited to help themselfes. Giving help to others is part of the recovery process. In this case, if you donate - you help countless other people who share your plight, who will be helped by this organization in the future. From what i could gather, the amount we need in cash is at least 1000$ (I am not even talking about reimbursing the volunteer admins like Gamersmom or WoW Parent, who make this possible by doing research on non-profit) It could be quite a bit more. All the money that will be donated, will naturally be officially accounted for. After all, Liz - the founding mother - has decided to be the treasurer ;) So please - if you can - help. Hello everyone, I have read the posts. Perhaps I can explain why we are asking for monies. Since May of 2002, when this organization was started, until last year, I have received donations that total about $100 from members. I have funded everything, from paying for the design of the website (the first one), to paying for the servers that host it, paying to maintain the board, pay for the e-mail address, pay whenever changes needed to be made, paying for ezboard (with some help), paying for the hot-line telephone, paying for all the other URL's that point to our site (we have about 15 of them, including www.everquestanonymous.org, www.wowanonymous.org, etc.) I can get a list of them all. I have funded trips to speak to people, I have had people stay at my house, who were considering suicide. I realize all of these were done by my own choosing. I do so appreciate the volunteers we have, otherwise, we would not be here.A, I cannot do it all. To say the least, I am getting burned out, and going broke. We need to get the organization non-profit registered, which costs a lot of money. We also would like to get our own server, to host the website and message board, mostly for security. I have someone who has volunteered to do this. He is asking for $250 from us to fund the server. He will pay for the rest. We need to get brochures produced, I need to finish writing the book and get that published. Many people have been helped by our website and message board. We need others to step up now. I appreciate those who took the initiative to even ask for money. So, keep the donations coming in - even if you have to click the paypal more than time! (Shiva did several - thanks, Max.) Help us, so you can help yourself, and so we can continue to help others. We are still needed!
