In 2009, after watching the movie Avatar, I joined Second Life because I wanted to play and be an Avatar.
After getting used to the environment and setting up my avatar I was nearly constantly online. I even was online while I slept in RL and in SL. I have no clue how much money I spent there, must have been sickening much. I got into some drama and made a new avatar...again and again and again. The avatar I have now is my 5. or 6., I'm not quite sure any more.
I recently moved and still don't have an internet connection yet and well, here I am. I know the signs of addiction, one year ago I stopped drinking, so I know it's difficult but it can be done! I used to drink and be online in SL to "party". Since beeing sober SL became somewhat boring and empty bc I don't have this foggy brain any more. But I still can't stop to play it. And I am worried about that.
Well, that's my story.
How did you manage to stay away from SL?
Have a great SL free monday :-)
