Thanks!

This is so embarrasing - this addiction. It does help to be able to hear others survive the same thing.

welcome back

Yes it's insidious and powerful.  I tried to get it under control for years.

The best things to do are to take a one day at a time approach, go to meetings, and try out the suggestions from people who have been able to stay off games long term.

The meetings are at 1:30pm and 10pm.  See you there.

update

I spent years thinking going from "this is an addiction" to "neh.. cant be".

Also I felt very stupid and ashamed for not being able to control it. You can control anything if you really want, right? But I found out every time that I couldn't. I felt ashamed of that, and it eroded my self esteem and belief in myself.

It is a real thing. And it is a great step to recognize it for what it is. Then you can start to really work on it. And there is no shame in it. Everybody has their sh-t, and dealing with addiction was mine.
