Second Life Boomerang

Hi - i was on Second Life early and it was wonderful for awhile and then I met these people whose lives were totally turned around by this, and then mine was.  I left.  I found myself 6 months ago back in, and back in hard.  I keep leaving, and then I go create a new account. I just get addicted and want to be on all the time. The slex/pixel sex is a big part of that! Yikes!  It's crazy.  How do I get out of it?  Thanks for listening.

Welcome back TommyLee.

Welcome back TommyLee.

I hope you can connect to other addicts through this site who can help you. There are online meetings and also an accountability thread for people who are staying quit from gaming one day at a time.

Best wishes

Polga

Hi Polga - thanks so much. The accountability thread - should i search for that?  Is there a simple link?

Thanks again,

TommyLee

back stronger!

Pretty invasive addiction!  I really need help. Am a calendar child for the 'cold turkey' approach.  Hurting heatlh, sleep, work, creativity. Starting clean again!  Thanks for the support.

Hi TommyLee

Hi TommyLee

Do consider the online mumble meetings with other gamers and a 12 step approach.

All the best!

Longest span off in a long time, and have another 8 days where the normal pattern of life is disrupted.   How can I keep it up and not relapse?  Trying to replace bad habits with good.

TommyLee, I've had my share

TommyLee, I've had my share of relapses too.  But what I find that helps me is being involved in the recovery community.  Going to meetings and having that accountability have been the most helpful.   Here's a link to the list of gaming recovery meetings.  http://www.olganon.org/forum/line-meetings-message-board/all-online-meetings-computervideo-gaming-addicts

There's also an ongoing check-in thread here where you can post daily if you like, count up your days and discuss recovery topics with others.  That thread is here:  http://www.olganon.org/forum/ongoing-recovery-and-progress-gamers/daily-count-and-accountability
