What Do I Do? Please Help!!

Last night, we had a bad thunderstorm. Of course, hubby would not get off his computer. When supper was ready, he actually did (believe it or not!) come to the table to eat with the rest of us. (some progress, maybe) After supper, he immediately returned to the bedroom and restarted his computer. He had no internet connection! He worked all night trying to figure out the problem but never did. We have 2 other computers and both of them were fine.... internet worked perfectly, just his was not working.

My question is.... do I try to figure out the problem today while he is at work or do I just let him suffer? I have read on here about the withdrawal symptoms and they are not pretty. I don't want to go through that.

I do have to admit that I found it more than a little funny last night to watch him work so hard trying to get it going again. It was funny, but very sad. My almost 18 year old daughter came in here and whispered to me "Hey Mommy, Karma's a *****, isn't it?" I hate to admit it, but it's true. LOL

What should I do?

Don't help, don't

Don't help, don't hinder. let him deal with his crisis his way, and who knows, maybe he'll ask your opinion.

Thanks for your replies. He

Thanks for your replies. He is about to come home. I am not helping him, but won't do anything to hinder either. I'm just gonna sit back and keep quiet. (and laugh to myself)

I agree with LIz, it's a gift from HP. Take it for what it is and for sure... don't run in and try to "fix" this for him. Why? Jane in CT

Well, it is fixed and

Well, it is fixed and everything is back to normal. (with him playing nonstop) He ended up taking something out of the kids' computer to fix his. Pretty bad, huh? Well now I have to share my computer with the kids. I've already decided that when my tax money comes, I am buying the kids a BRAND NEW COMPUTER.

It might have been the 3-D

It might have been the 3-D video card, and it might have been more powerful than his was to begin with, which is why he has resumed his non-stop playing. Everything is NOT back to normal, as I am sure you understand. He is in the grips of his addiction and may well NOT come to terms with it until he "hits his bottom"... as so many addicts have to do, in order to see the pain they are causing and the cause of that pain.
