How to communicate my feelings to my spouse about his gaming addiction

My husband has been addicted to gaming for the past 3 years - all his free time after work and on the weekends is devoted to gaming. If I try to talk to him while he is in battle or raiding he gets really defensive and starts yelling at me. I've tried to communitcate my feelings to him and each time I try he shuts me down. He blames it on my period or calls me needy. I am so frustrated and at a tipping point. I am seriously considering divorice. I don't know how to communicate my feelings to him without him belittling and yelling at me. Help please!

Welcome to Olganon !

There is a thread for spouses here that talks about communication which may help you think about it. You have to log on to see it.

You are not alone with this problem of him reacting against your attempts. Maybe you need to say soemthing like ' I want a divorce' to make them take notice, but it is possible he could respond with 'go ahead'' Sometimes we cannot get through; we just have to look after ourselves and do what is necessary to get on with our lives, and let them feel the consequences of their choice.

If he wont let you speak, you could try a letter...if he will read it. There is a recent thread about it on the members forum.

Keep coming back to learn more
