Husband is a massive gamer

ive always known my husband to be a gamer, it didn’t have a massive impact on my life as he mainly gamed when I went to bed. Though the amount of time he was on there I didn’t agree with. Usually 10pm-2 am every night.

on Friday I had logged onto his email address looking for something for our son and noticed a thank you for your purchase email from Microsoft- after doing all the maths in the last 3 months alone he has spend £1200 on fortnite and mainly fifa. The money has come from his mother mainly-she thought she had been helping him out with petrol money etc.

I feel sick I don’t know how to move on from this. We have 5 children together the youngest just newborn. My husband whilst does seem remorseful he doesn’t seem as sorry as I would thought given the situation.

He also thinks he doesbt need help and by deleteing fortnite and fifa all will be ok again..which I of course know that is not the case

This addiction is baffling and stronger than people think. Denial is common. The dopamine pverload rewires the brain and they become less empathic towards family  We regularly have reports on people overspending on the games. Thanks for sharing. I hope the resources for spouses arer helpful for you in my link below.
