I think video game addiction is insidious and the biggest threat to our society because tens of millions of kids and young adults in the US are addicted. In countries like China, the numbers are in the hundreds of millions who are addicted (http://www.neoseeker.com/news/10205-chinas-campaign-against-video-game-addiction-proves-effective/). Video game addiction is unrecognized and "tolerated". The medical community is way behind in the diagnosis, treatment, and research. Parents and families are not educated about the dangers. Game companies are billion dollar enterprises that give away game consoles to college students and "give away" games to the public, i.e. Facebook games and free MMORPGs.
