Interview school aggressive games

Hello there,

We're on this site for school and we want to know some things about gamers and what it's like to be addicted to aggressive games.
Here are some quenstions, and we'd like you to answer this questions for us.

How old are you?

When did you start playing games?

When did you get addicted?

What kind of games do you prefer?

How long are you playing games each day?

Do the games have impact on your private life?

Do you think you became more agressive by games with wars?

Do you know someone who's been a victim of cruelty by games?

How do you think about the negative publicity of agressive games? (Example: they blame the games for murdering)

You don't have to answer all questions. You can answer them anonymous.

Thanks for your time,
HIC.

How old are you? 29 When did

How old are you? 29 When did you start playing games? 11 When did you get addicted? 13-16 What kind of games do you prefer? Roleplaying, Epic Strategy or FPS How long are you playing games each day? Until I quit 16-18+ hours. Do the games have impact on your private life? If you are addicted as badly as I was, they are your private life. In the limited amount of time I had at parties, gatherings or business dealings aside from gaming, yes but only because I spent so long isolated, with little sleep and little other stimulus to my life. The game itself was irrelevant from my perspective, it was the behavior associated with it. Do you think you became more agressive by games with wars? No, I became passive aggressive when my addiction was threatened or someone wanted to take the ability to play away from me but I have always been a calm and non violent sort of person socially. Do you know someone who's been a victim of cruelty by games? I don't understand the question fully as it is worded, I surmise you mean due to the perceived impact of games on their life, if so then no. How do you think about the negative publicity of agressive games? (Example: they blame the games for murdering) This is a subjective call at best even from experts. I believe they act as triggers to a certain type of disturbed person, like anything can, the wrong word, the wrong movie, the wrong environment, the wrong peer pressure. You don't have to answer all questions. You can answer them anonymous.

How old are you? I am 38

How old are you? I am 38 years old When did you start playing games? I started playing games, and I'm assuming you mean electronic or digital games on and off as early as my teens...but my problem years with gaming really began 2 1/2 to 3 years ago When did you get addicted? I can't really say when I got addicted, but I can estimate how long my life has been unmanageable as a result of my gaming addiction. I would say that the last 2 years of my life had become unmanageable due to my addiction. What kind of games do you prefer? I preferred during the peak of my gaming addiction MMOs...more specifically World of Warcraft. I had a short stint of playing Never Winter Nights and Age of Conan..but the worst of them was WoW How long are you playing games each day? At the peak of my addiction and gaming I was logging anwhere from 8 to 20 hours at a time in game. Often I would go two or three days without showering or leaving the house and just gaming every waking moment of that time. Do the games have impact on your private life? Yes the games had an impact on my private life....during the height of my addiction they completely destroyed any real world social life I had and my social life became the game and those that played it. Do you think you became more agressive by games with wars? As far as being more aggresive I would have to say yes..that during times while gaming I had broken dishes, my desk...bruised my hands from hitting the edge of my chair..throwing things. It was reaction to things that happenned in the game. At one time I actually broke my keyboard into hundreds of pieces over my knee and had to go buy another one. In game I was also showing exceeding more rude, obnoxious and hostile agressive behavior towards other players. Largely in battlegrounds I would cuss, belittle and find ways with words to cut down and emotionally hurt other players that in my opinion were losing the battle for us. I even went so far as to threatening another gamer and giving him my address and telling him to come tell it to my face..I got banned for 24 hours Do you know someone who's been a victim of cruelty by games? I personally do not..if you mean physical cruelty...if you mean emotionally cruelty I know a ton..I heard in ventrillo many of my fellow gamers yell at wives and kids (often using expletives) to be shut up or leave them (expletive) alone. I know some of the things I said to other players in the game were very cruel..I have a sharp wit and cunning tongue..I remember typing things into chat that if recieved by the right type of person could have serous affect on how they thought about themeselves How do you think about the negative publicity of agressive games? (Example: they blame the games for murdering) I think to some degree the gaming companies should take some responsiblity, but the gamers have to as well. Most gamers are young and their minds are still very easily influenced by what they percieve as their world. Messages conveyed by games I believe can help to develop a misundertanding in an individual about the morals associated with violence
