Do you play or have played World of Warcraft (WoW)? If so, you are invited to participate in a study investigating where massively multi-player online role playing games fit into the current internet usage literature and the psychological factors involved in playing such games. This research is being conducted by Jodie Logan to meet the requirements for the Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree, under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Miller (Department of Psychology, Macquarie University).
To participate in this survey you must play or have played WoW and be aged 18 years or older. The survey is available online and will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete. You will be asked to supply some demographic information and respond to questions and statements related to your playing of WoW.
Information collected from the survey will be completed, submitted and stored anonymously as the researchers are interested in examining general trends within the data as opposed to individual responses. Participation in this research is entirely voluntary and you are free to withdraw from the survey at any time.
Participants who complete the survey will have a chance to win one of two AUD$50 Amazon.com vouchers. Participants who wish to enter the prize draw will need to provide registration details (email address) at the end of the survey. To preserve your anonymity, prize registration details will not be linked to survey responses.
