A letter from your Higher Power. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help.
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. All situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic; don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!
Should you decide to send this to a friend; thank you, you may have touched their life in ways you will never know.
When you think you have it bad, there is someone out there who wishes he or she had it as good as you do.
Be nice to everyone, because everybody is wrestling with their own personal "giants".
FORGIVE AND FORGET. A grudge is like a termite in your soul.
Remember life is very short. The next life is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, LONG. Somtimes our "big" problems are actually small ones.

One thing that I absolutely know is true, but I nonetheless quite often have trouble reminding myself at times, is that my life's problems are not really that bad compared to that of many other people. It is true that I have serious financial problems, I am currently basically alone, I have some serious self-doubts, etc. However, I also live in a great country (Canada) with many opportunities for advancement. I have a master's degree and experience in my several fields of expertise. Also, I have quite good health, a roof over my head, heat to keep me warm when it is cold outside, more than sufficient nutritious food to eat, etc. As for the types of problems that I was trying to escape from by playing video games, there are many people in the world who successfully deal with far harder problems. Sometimes these people have no choice but to deal with them but there are also many other people who deal with them voluntarily because they know that they need to do it. Some of these problems they really have no control over (e.g., other people's behaviour) so they, as the post above says, realize that and put them into the SFGTD (or, alternatively, a SFTHPTD, i.e., something for the Higher Power to do) box. Otherwise, they do what they can about them in a timely fashion since the sooner that they deal with the problems, the sooner that they don't have to worry about them any more! Although I still struggle to deal with my various internal and external problems, I am at least not escaping from them by playing video games any more. I am thus beginning to face them, and learning how to deal with them, instead of just ignoring them and somehow "magically" hoping that they will go away on their own (e.g., after I play video games to not think about them for a while).
