Daily Devotional and Sunday Prayer

I've really wanted to attend the Sunday Morning Prayer Groups, but 6am is just too early for me as I'm often not able to get to bed early (teen activities). So I thought today I would share my prayer here.

Please add a prayer below, if you'd like.

Inspired by: Aug 4 Daily Devotional, "The Brave Comradeship of God, My Utmost for His Highest, Oswald Chambers, Luke 18:31, "Then he took unto Him the twelve".

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are an amazing God who is capable of doing amazing things in us when we feel we have nothing to offer, when our lives and hearts have been shattered, our bodies damaged, our souls torn open wide. Thank you Lord, that we have been taken down so low, that we've had to come to you with the words, "I have nothing to offer, I can't do this" for in this weakness you make us strong with the realization that it is not our strength that heals us, heals others, but the strength of the Lord working in us and through us.

Thank you Lord for the leaders and servants of OLGA who have been broken by the loss of a child, the loss of precious time with a child, the loss of years of their own. Thank you Lord for the loss I suffer when I see my son is not going the direction I would want him to go, for showing me that my son is not mine, but yours, that I need to "let go, and let God"- for my plans for him are nothing compared to what you have in store for him.

Oswald Chambers says: As long as you think there is something in you, He cannot choose you because you have ends of your own to serve; but if you have let Him bring you to the end of your self-sufficiency then He can choose you to go with him (to Jerusalem as the disciples went), and that will mean the fulfilment of purposes which He does not discuss with you.

Lord God, I ask, should it be your will, that you lead us into service not for our own glory, but for yours, which is for the fullfillment of your plans, not ours, for the healing of your people, our brothers and sisters. Lord I pray for all the hurting who come to OLGA for help. May you give then the guidance and direction they need to overcome the addiciton or the chaos the addiction had created in their lives. Help us to serve one another in love.

May the organizaiton of OLGA be blessed for the lives they have touched.May we go forward this week seeking your will and your plan as you guide us in our choices. Amen.
