Sanctuary in Silence

"Peace of mind comes with daily discipline."

Cultivating peace requires discipline. Many [people] pray, some exercise and some meditate to achieve this goal. Whatever they do, each of these [people] has found sanctuary in their silence.

With silence like this you're able to relax your mind and body. You simply let go of the tightness in your body and the chatter in your head.

Why not try it? Start by focusing on a discipline. Once you feel the quietness surround you, let your mind and body relax.

Quiet time spent like this each and every day will do amazing things for your heart, your spirit and your peace of mind.

Some of my newest disciplines:

Yoga

Martin Buber "Good and Evil"

Book "Song of the Dodo"

Walking Meditation

Learning South American Spanish

Of course not every day. But depending on my mood I'll pick one of the above. I'm fortunate that I love silences. I've always loved them since I was a child.

Thanks for this Pat.  I was

Thanks for this Pat.

I was big into meditation when I was back living with my parents, at first because it was forced on me for a while, and then afterwords because it calmed me. I find myself being uncomfortable with silence and a lack of action, so I have a feeling that surrendering that to my HP and beginning to meditate wouldn't be a bad idea :)

Thanks for the reminder and inspiration
