I wrote this poem a few months ago. It's dedicated to those who can't seem to quit gaming.
Why Can't I Stop?
Why can't I see, as I game all day
How my life is slowly being drained away.
I think it's great and so much fun
But what do I have when the day is done?
Some pixel gear, a hard battle beat,
The rarest item...it's oh, so neat!
But stop and think where will it end
This virtual lie I call my friend?
My life is a mess. This game twists my mind.
It won't let me stop, but sucks up my time.
I want to get free but it won't let me go.
I can't leave my guild. I must help fight the foe.
I guess I can see, as my life drains away
It's too hard to stop so I'll just game all day.
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. ~Maria Robinson
Beautifully written; and very true for me.
Good job SilverTabby! Ty for posting it! :)
SIncerely,

Dear Silvertabbly,
Truth in a poem! That last line is chilling:
"It's too hard to stop so I'll just game all day."
I look forward to your next poem...
This was your state of mind a few months ago;
how about one telling where you're at now?

Actually Serena, I never personally felt this way, since I stopped gaming anyway. I certainly felt this way for about a year before I finally stopped, though. But I wrote this poem for the ones that we see come here for a bit and then they go back to gaming. I feel so sad for them, but I certainly can understand.
